There is so much to enjoy on the beaches of Cape San Blas. Swimming, shelling, strolling, boogie boarding, paddleboarding, skim boarding, kayaking, horseback riding, shore fishing and sandcastle building! Sea 'n Stars offers guests an array of beach gear: they can use it during their stay.

Shopping
There are so many incredible shops in Cape San Blas, Port St. Joe, and Apalachicola. Many are independently owned & operated small businesses! Take a stroll up and down Cape San Blas Road, along Reid Avenue in Port St. Joe, and around Apalachicola's main square.
Scallop Season
Each year scallop season runs between August and September. This year it's 8/16-9/24. You will need a saltwater fishing license, snorkel, and a scallop bag. The 2024 Florida Scallop, Music & Arts Festival will be held Labor Day Weekend (August 31- September 1) in Port St. Joe.
Sea Turtles
May 1st to October 31st is turtle season in Cape San Blas! Five species of sea turtles are in Florida waters and nesting on our beaches: the Loggerhead, the Green, the Leatherback, the Kemp's Ridley, and the Hawksbill. Visit our very own Turtle Center in Port St. Joe. For more information, visit:

Horseback Riding
Enjoy a horseback riding on the beach! Most rides leave from Salinas Park on the south end of Cape San Blas. There are two companies that offer riding. Just Google horseback riding in Cape San Blas. Select a company that works best for your group and get ready to ride!

SEA 'N STARS POLICIES
1. GULF COUNTY LAWS AND ORDINANCES
Guests are expected to follow all Gulf County laws and ordinances. Here is a list of the most pertinent to Sea 'n Stars:
GOLF CARTS
Golf carts (including street-legal carts) are prohibited on Cape San Blas Road and the Bike/Hike trail. From Sea 'n Stars, guests cannot access the beach legally. The sheriff will issue fines and points on your license. Golf carts are not permitted at Sea 'n Stars.

BEACH DRIVING
Beach driving is legal in Cape San Blas with a permit. Non-resident permits are $400. An annual permit to drive on the beach can be obtained at the Gulf County Tax Collector's office in the courthouse in Port St. Joe. The first fine for driving without a permit is $500, and the second is $750. For more details, visit: Gulf County Tax Collector.
DUNES
Florida law protects our dunes. You must STAY OFF THE DUNES and out of the sea oats! Fines start at $500. This includes walking on them, allowing your kids to dig in them, playing football/soccer/frisbee on them, rolling down them, setting your beach gear (sunshade/tent, chairs, coolers) on them, and leaving beach gear on them in the evening. The dunes are natural barriers that protect our homes. Hurricane Michael destroyed most of the dunes in Cape San Blas. A concerted effort is being made to establish new dunes, sea oats, and other plants that keep the dunes in place.
LEAVE NO TRACE
Gulf County has a Leave No Trace Ordinance. Please read the ordinance in its entirety here: Leave No Trace.

One hour after sunset, beachgoers must remove personal items (tents, chairs, coolers, toys, boogie boards, kayaks, etc.) from the beach. Items must be returned to the rental, not left at the dune line or on/under the boardwalk.

Sandcastles must be flattened.
-
Holes must be filled.
-
Trash must be disposed of properly.
-
Overnight camping must not be within 400 feet of any waterfront residence.
-
Glass bottles, containers, etc., are prohibited on Gulf County beaches.
-
Any items left on the beach overnight are considered abandoned. They become county property, and the Sheriff will dispose of them.
ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES
No illegal substances are allowed on the premises.
FIREWORKS
Unless you possess a special permit, Florida law states that the only legal fireworks for use by consumers are sparklers. However,
NO fireworks, including sparklers, are allowed at Sea 'n Stars.
BONFIRES
Fires are allowed on Gulf County beaches. Burning materials other than natural wood (pallets, wood with screws, nails, metals, and
all pressure-treated woods) is prohibited. "All materials (including wood logs) brought to the beach shall be removed from the beach by the owners or users that same day and upon extinguishing open fire." To see all bonfire regulations, visit Bonfires.
BURN BANS
Guests may not have any outdoor fires when a burn ban is in effect. To check the latest status, visit the Gulf County, Florida Emergency Management Facebook Page.
2. GULF COUNTY BEACH AWARENESS
GULF COUNTY BEACH FLAG WARNING SYSTEM
Please be aware of the flags before entering the water. Flags are posted up and down the beaches in Cape San Blas and Indian Pass. They are also posted at both fire stations, Rish Park and on the South Gulf Fire Rescue Facebook Page. If the water is closed, please don't risk your life, lives of your loved ones, or the lives of our rescue volunteers.
RIP CURRENTS
"Think of a rip current like this - it is a natural treadmill traveling away from the beach. Rip currents can travel as fast as 8 feet per second - that’s faster than an Olympic swimmer! A rip current is dangerous because it can sweep even the strongest swimmers out to sea. For that reason, rip currents are life-threatening to anyone entering the surf." National Weather Service.
3. SEA 'N STARS HOUSE RULES AND GENERAL POLICIES
Guests will receive a rental agreement containing a complete list of our policies when booking.
CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT TIMES
Check-in is between 4:00pm and 5:00pm EST, depending on availability. Due to our high standards for cleanliness, there is a possibility that your vacation rental may not be ready at 4:00pm, especially during peak season. Your patience is appreciated. Check-out time is 10:00 am EST. Please leave on time so that the unit may be prepared for our next guests.
DAILY RATE AND MINIMUM STAYS
We require a three-night minimum. The rate varies due to seasonality and holidays. Please select your dates on our online booking calendar for a quote.

SHORTENED STAYS AND CONDITIONS
No refunds will be given for inclement weather or other events such as red tide, seaweed blobs, or Gulf closures (double red flags). Refunds will only be given if the Gulf County Board of County Commissioners order a mandatory evacuation of the Coastal Corridor (as defined by Gulf County) for a Tropical Storm Warning or a Hurricane Warning. If a mandatory evacuation is issued, you must evacuate. If an evacuation is ordered, we will refund the following:

Any unused rent from a guest currently staying at Sea 'n Stars.

Any unused portion of rent from a guest scheduled to arrive and wants to shorten their stay to come in after the warning is lifted.
-
Any advance rent collected for a reservation scheduled to arrive during the evacuation period.
SECURITY DEPOSIT
A refundable $500 security deposit is required at the time of booking. Sea 'n Stars will be inventoried and inspected before and after occupancy. If the property is left in the same condition as upon arrival, the security deposit will be refunded within seven (7) days of departure and inspection of the home. The guest will be held responsible if there is any damage to the property or its contents (above normal wear and tear). The guest will be notified, and the cost of the damage will be withheld from the security deposit. If damages exceed the security deposit amount, the guest will be billed for the additional expenses required to repair the property.
AGE REQUIREMENTS
Guest must be 25 to rent Sea 'n Stars. The adult who signs the contract must stay in Sea 'n Stars for the entire stay.
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY
Sea 'n Stars has a maximum occupancy of eight people (adults or children).
SECURITY CAMERAS
This property has exterior security cameras.
QUIET HOURS
Please be respectful to our wonderful neighbors. Most live here full-time. Please minimize outdoor noise between 11:00pm
and 7:00am EST.
NON-SMOKING HOME
Smoking of any kind is banned on the property (indoors or outdoors). This includes, but is not limited to, cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, vapes, pipes, medical marijuana - or any other version of marijuana. Please discuss this with everyone in your party before booking. There are no exceptions to the
smoking policies.
PET FREE HOME
No pets are allowed at Sea 'n Stars. We are happy to refer anyone traveling with a pet to a pet-friendly property.
NO EVENTS ALLOWED
It is not permitted to host large parties or group events such as house parties, large gatherings, weddings, or receptions at Sea 'n Stars.
